In 2026, the boundary between DevOps and Platform Engineering has blurred. Many teams call their DevOps practice 'Platform Engineering' and treat the internal developer platform as a product. Either name describes the same underlying goal: shorten the path from 'code committed' to 'feature in production' while maintaining reliability.
